IRONFIRE Split In Two
September 23, 2003Danish metallers IRONFIRE have split in two "due to overwhelming musical differences," according to a post on the band's web site. "[Vocalist] Martin [Steene] and [guitarist] Mads [Andersen] will continue IRONFIRE as you know it. And [guitarist] Jeff [Lukka], [bassist] Jose [Cruz] and [drummer] Steve [Mason] are pursuing new musical pastures.
"Unable to get out of a contract with TEX, Martin and Mads will be playing the TEX gig on the 10th of October with a quickly assembled backing band featuring, Martin Slott (ex-IRONFIRE, URBAN COWBOYS),Jens from SONS OF TOMORROW on drums, and Bent (URBAN COWBOYS) on bass."
IRONFIRE spent the early months of 2003 at Nifilheim Studios recording and mixing a promotional CD, which was being used to procure a new record deal.
The group, who issued two full-length albums through the Sanctuary/Noise label, are expected to release the follow-up to 2001's "On The Edge" in 2004.
